Yankees Birthdays (February 9th)

With a team that has been around for over a century, you can imagine there are plenty of  players’ birthdays each day.  On this day there are four former Yankees who are celebrating their birthdays today. You may not have heard of all of them, but each one had a moment to shine with the team.

Today is the 31st birthday of former Yankee Dioner Navarro. At a time when Jesus Montero was just 16, Dioner Navarro was the Yankees top catching prospect. He was one of the prospects the Yankees surrendered in a Jan 2005 trade with the D-Backs, in which the team acquired HOF Randy Johnson. Navarro would go onto to play with 5 other teams after starting his career with the Yankees, he currently plays for the Blue Jays.

Happy 47th birthday to Robert Eenhoorn. Robert spent the bulk of his time in the Yankees organization as a minor league infielder throughout the 90’s.  Playing in 37 games over the course of 4 seasons with the Yankees and Angels, Eenhoorn was out of baseball after 1998.
