John Sterling might just have a new apartment owned by one of the Yankees’ most well known players, Alex Rodriguez. Sterling has been broadcasting every Yankee game since 1989, as the Yankees radio play-by-play announcer. John Sterling lost his house in a fire at his apartment complex, that was the result of maintenance workers using a blowtorch. Alex Rodriguez offered his Manhattan apartment to John Sterling, after Sterling lost nearly all of his possessions in the fire several weeks ago.
Perhaps some will just like to look at it as a PR move, and maybe they have a point. Rather than giving A-Rod grief however, you should appreciate the generous offer he made. Just think about it this way; how many other players in the Yankee organization offered him a place to stay during these difficult times?
